Thought for the week…

This morning we will be looking at “The Real ‘Lord’s Prayer’”.

Oliver Greene, an evangelist and author wrote:

“This 17th chapter of John records the longest prayer of our Lord while He was on earth.  We have many of the sermons of Jesus, many of His parables; but only this one lengthy prayer.”

Matthew Henry wrote: “This is the most remarkable prayer ever uttered

            on the earth.”

Philip Melanchthon, second only to Martin Luther as a figure in the

Lutheran Reformation, wrote:

“There is no voice which has ever been heard, either in heaven

or in earth, more exalted, more holy, more fruitful, more

sublime than this prayer offered up by the Son of God Himself.”
